Dispatching Service: common questions

How do truck dispatchers charge?

Most charge a percentage of each load's gross (often in the 5-10% range) or a flat weekly fee. Get the rate, what's included (load booking, broker setup, invoicing, paperwork) and cancellation terms in a written agreement.

What should I check before hiring a dispatcher?

Ask for references from current carriers, confirm they book loads in your name with your authority, that you approve every load and rate, and that payments from brokers go directly to you or your factoring company.
